High efficiency Doherty power amplifier based on asymmetrical matching network

Doherty power amplifier (DPA) with high efficiency at the output back off is highly demanded for modern wireless communication systems to achieve data rates and reduce consumption operation costs. This paper presents a new design strategy enhancing DPA’s back-off efficiency. New called asymmetrical matching network used asymmetric operation, which helps compensate low delivered by peaking stage in conventional DPA. The simulation results showed an enhancement efficiency, where proposed able toachieve 46-52% drain 8 dB while maintains of 73-80 % saturation over designed bandwidth 3.4-3.6 GHz. suitable sub-6 GHz fifth-generation applications.<br /><div> </div>
